MEDICINE THEATER FOR TEAMS
Creative Play. Authentic Connection. Stronger Teams.
There's a particular kind of exhaustion that high-performing teams know well. Relentless demands, constant problem-solving, and pressure to perform can leave little room for creativity, connection, or simply being human together.
Medicine Theater is a powerful reset.
Led by Asher Lyons—performer, facilitator, and founder of Medicine Theater—these experiential workshops bring the power of improvisation, creative play, storytelling, and embodied connection into the workplace.
Through play, people step outside their usual roles and ways of relating. They listen differently. They take creative risks. They discover new things about themselves and one another. And they experience what becomes possible when a team has permission to be more spontaneous, present, and fully human.

WHAT TEAMS EXPERIENCE
TRUST & COLLABORATION
Improv is built on listening, presence, responsiveness, and meeting what another person brings. Teams practice trust and collaboration in real time—not through a worksheet, but through shared experience.
CREATIVITY & INNOVATION
Play opens the door to curiosity, experimentation, and unexpected possibilities. It helps people move beyond habitual ways of thinking and access a deeper, more spontaneous creative flow.
COMFORT WITH UNCERTAINTY
Improvisation puts us directly in relationship with the unknown. Participants practice staying present, taking creative risks, and responding to what is actually happening rather than needing to know the answer in advance.
AUTHENTIC CONNECTION
Professional roles and expectations can create distance between people. Play creates a different kind of space—one where people can loosen those patterns, see one another more fully, and build genuine human connection.
A NEW WAY THROUGH TENSION
Teams inevitably encounter friction and disagreement. Through improvisational play, participants practice staying present with what arises, listening beneath assumptions, and finding new possibilities together.

HOW IT WORKS
Medicine Theater workshops are immersive, experiential journeys that invite participants into a shared world of creative play, improvisation, and collaborative discovery.
Drawing from Viola Spolin's improvisational methods and Asher's original approach to creative group facilitation, participants explore new ways of listening, responding, collaborating, and accessing their intuitive knowing through play.
No previous theater or improvisation experience is necessary. The emphasis is not on performing but on discovering what becomes possible when people create together.
Each workshop can be customized to meet the needs of your team, group size, goals, and available time.
Workshop Offerings
Half-Day Team Experience — up to 30 participants
Full-Day Team Experience — up to 30 participants

ABOUT ASHER LYONS
Asher Lyons is the founder and lead facilitator of Medicine Theater, an original method of creative group facilitation rooted in improvisation, collaborative storytelling, embodied expression, and transformational play.
For more than 20 years, Asher has been bringing improvisational ensemble work into diverse group settings, including corporate workshops, educational programs, community gatherings, and his own ongoing Medicine Theater classes and retreats.
His training includes work with faculty from Chicago's Second City and ImprovOlympic, as well as veterans of the San Francisco Mime Troupe and BATS Improv. He holds a BA in Theatre with an emphasis in Performance from San Francisco State University.
Through decades of facilitating groups, Asher has developed an approach that invites people beyond habitual patterns and into the intuitive, spontaneous, and deeply human dimensions of creative play.
His work is rooted in the belief that play is not something separate from meaningful work—it is a fundamental human capacity that allows us to become more creative, connected, courageous, and alive.
